Mrs. John T. Flynn

Mrs. John T. Flynn, 77, 1107 W. Fifth St., a longtime Northwest Iowa resident, died Sunday afternoon at a Sioux City hospital after a four-month illness.

Mrs. Flynn, the former Cecilia M. Ahmann, was born on July 1, 1899, at Remsen, Iowa, and was married in 1922 in Sioux City. The couple moved from LeMars, Iowa, to Sioux City in 1942.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rosary Society of the church, Catholic Women’s League and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include the widower; three sons, Robert and Thomas, both of Pocahontas, Iowa, and James, of Des Moines; seven daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Mary) Slate of Sioux City; Mrs. Vernon (Cecile) Hare of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mrs. William (Kathleen) OBryan of Jefferson, Iowa; Mrs. Wayne (Carol) Hettinger of Holstein, Iowa; Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Jacobson of Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. Alfred (Norma) Tague of Lawton, Iowa; and Miss Rita Flynn, of Orange City, Iowa; two brothers, Henry Ahmann of Sioux City and the Rev. Cletus Ahmann of Arcadia, Iowa; five sisters, Mrs. Justine Westemeyer of Skokie, Ill., the Misses Callista and Carol Ahmann, both of Caroll, Iowa, Miss Helen Ahmann of Rochester, Minn., and Sister Theresa Ahmann of Dubuque, Iowa; 47 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Sylvester Micek officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
