Vincent Nuebel of Le Mars died peacefully at his home after a long illness Wednesday evening October 31, 2007, at the age of 92.

Vincent Sylvester Nuebel was born October 10, 1915 on the family farm southeast of Le Mars, the son of Frank and Josephine (Meis) Nuebel.

He grew up in the Le Mars area and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Le Mars.

Vincent married Alvina C. Sitzmann on January 25, 1939 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Neptune in Lincoln Township. Following their marriage, the couple farmed for several years southeast of the home place a couple of miles, before moving to their farm east of Le Mars in 1943.They farmed for 69 years. In 2006 Vincent and Alvina relocated to their condo in Le Mars.

Vincent was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and was a Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council #1466. He was also a member of the Lions Club and had been a member of the (B.P.O.E.) Elks Lodge.

Vincent spent 46 years actively involved with A.A. and their special programs.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, farming and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years Alvina Nuebel of Le Mars; nine children: Yvonne Reuter of Denver, CO, Anita Beguin of Sun City, AZ, Daniel Nuebel and his wife Karen Thompson of Santa Rosa, CA, twin sons: Ronald Nuebel and his wife Connie of Northfield, MN and Donald Nuebel of Denver, CO; Kay Shimek and her husband Dan of Apple Valley, MN, Bonnie Zelasney and her husband Bernie of Denver, CO, Connie Schnepf and her husband Paul of Barrington, IL and Frank Nuebel and his wife Rowena of Castle Rock, CO; 27 grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four sisters: Dorothy Crooks of Garden Grove, CA, Rosella Sitzmann, Vivian Sitzmann, and Agatha Sitzmann, all of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law Bill Reuter; two sisters: Mary Bohlke and Leona Sitzmann; and two brothers: Leo and Lawrence Nuebel.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday November 6, 2007 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars, with Reverend Kevin Richter, Reverend James Tigges, Reverend Eugene Sitzmann and Reverend Richard Sitzmann concelebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars.

Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church, where there will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and the Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Knights of Columbus rosary. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday morning at the Church.

The Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be directed to Hospice of Siouxland, St. Joseph's Building Fund or Gehlen Catholic Schools.
