MERRILL, Iowa -- Clarence Muecke, 77, of rural Merrill passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at his residence, with his family at his side.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa, with the Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Clarence was born on May 15, 1930, to Paul and Barbara (Zrenner) Muecke in rural Merrill. He grew up and attended Hinton schools.

On March 2, 1951, he married Nicholene Homer in Hinton. The couple made their home on the family farm. Clarence farmed all his life and enjoyed mechanic work. He also enjoyed fishing and all his dogs.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton.

Survivors include his wife, Nicholene Muecke; four children, Ronald Muecke and wife, Esther of Merrill, Michael Muecke and wife, Bonnie of Merrill, Barbara Martin and husband, Bill of Sioux City, and Theresa Carley and husband, Larry Dean of Pierson, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Adam, Jacob, Andrew, Rebecca, Nathan, Alissa, Brandon, J.R., Angel and Carri; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter.
