ROSE WELTER

Rose Welter, 75, of LeMars, died Friday, June 17, 1994, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City following a brief illness.

Mrs. Welter was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Plymouth County, the daughter of Bert and Mary Ellen (Faust) Hoffman. She was a Plymouth County native and lifelong resident. She married LeRoy Welter in 1939, and the couple made their home in LeMars.

Survivors are her husband; three daughters and their husbands, Janet and Joe Eckart of Omaha, Neb., Mary and Richard Vondrak of Sioux City, and Karen and Denny Eaton of Council Bluffs; two sons and their wives, Mike and Marilyn and Ron and Jonie, all of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Winifred Moorehead, Mrs. Margaret Heyl and Mrs. Neva Lewis, all of LeMars; and a brother, Maynard Hoffman, of Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Delbert, Bernard, John, Cleo and Charles.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at St. James Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael D. Sernett officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation was after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in LeMars, with a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.
