EVA M. EASTON

LE MARS, Iowa --- Eva M. Easton, 87, of LeMars died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Care Center in LeMars.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mrs. Easton was born on July 1, 1909, west of LeMars, to Ralph and Myra E. (Pollard) Woods. She married James A. Easton on Feb. 22, 1928 in Merrill. They farmed in the Merrill area for 22 years. After retiring they spent over 20 winters in Arizona. He died on Dec. 14, 1980. She moved to the Brentwood Good Samaritan Care Center in January of 1991. She collected salt and pepper shakers, and had donated her collection to the Plymouth County Museum.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill for many years, and also of Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars. She was a member of the Tuesday Club in Merrill for several years.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Ted Anderson of Longview, Wash., and Bonnie and Gordon Snaza, of Vashon Island, Wash.; three sons and their wives, Joe and Eunice of Sioux City, James and Lorna of Hawarden, Iowa, and Monte and Patricia of LeMars; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, William and Emerson Woods; and two sisters, Nettie Schiesow and Josephine Doty.

Pallbearers will be Paul, Michael, David, Dan, and Joseph Easton, Michael Hein, Clay Snaza, and Holly Thomas.
