PETER JOHANSON

Funeral services for Peter S. Johanson, 77, will be held Friday, May 17, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Johnson township at 2 p.m. with Rev. Senst officiating and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Ia., under the direction of Luken’s Funeral Home.

He was born March 13, 1880, in Germany and came to this country as a young man, spent his early life in South Dakota and Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Anna Petersen on February 17, 1917, at Sioux City. Had resided in Plymouth Co. since his marriage and the past 25 years in Washington Twp.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; one daughter, Mrs. Matt (Edna) Bruscher of LeMars; 3 sons, Jens and Marvin L. of LeMars, Arnold of Metaire, La.; one brother, Sigfried of Hardwick, Minn.; 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother and 1 daughter.

Pallbearers will be Herman Juster, Herbert Boettger, Gerd Pageler, Charles Kluver, Frank Rath, and Felix Carstensen.
