June 17, 1957MRS. JECK FOUND DEAD
Mrs. Marguerite Jeck, 77, was found dead last Sunday morning at her home where she resided alone. She apparently died of a heart attack during the night. She has been in ill health for a long time and had been hospitalized in the Le Mars hospital all winter, and was able to come home about a month ago. (Story in last Monday’s Globe-Post)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from St. John's Lutheran Church. Rev. J.M. Rhode officiated with burial in Hillside Cemetery. The Mauer funeral home had chare of arrangements.
A son, Alex, of Council Bluffs, survives.

Mrs. Margaretta Jeck of Merrill died at her home in Merrill on Sunday. Mrs. Jeck was found dead in her bed at the residence by Mr. Norton, a neighbor who went to the home to see if Mrs. Jeck needed supplies. He had been doing so for sometime. Coroner S.H. Luken was called and said death occurred sometime in the early morning hours and was due to coronary occlusion.
Neighbors had seen Mrs. Jeck as late as 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Norton had taken some meat to her on Saturday. This had not bee opened but remained in the refrigerator.
Margaretta Johnson was born April 16, 1880, in Germany. She was married to Walter Jeck there in 1906 and they came to the United States and Plymouth county in 1913. They lived in Remsen and LeMars before moving to Merrill in 1948. Mr. Jeck passed away in 1951.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in Merrill at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 1957, and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at Merrill under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Alex, of Council Bluffs.
