WILL HOLD SERVICES
FRIDAY IN MERRILL
FOR MRS. MARY MATTAS

Mrs. Mary V. Mattas, 76, Merrill, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the Sacred Heart hospital after a four month illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o’clock at the Merrill Methodist church. Rev. M. L. Metcalf of Sioux City will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Merrill city cemetery.

Mary Buryanek Mattas was born April 26, 1875, in Riverside, Iowa. She was married to J.W. Mattas in Akron, May 25, 1892. Mr. Mattas died in 1938.

The survivors include seven sons, Frank J., William C., Edward C., Harry A., Leslie C., Lawrence T., and Joseph W., all of Merrill; three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Marienau, Westfield; Mrs. Edith Bauerly, Sioux City, and Mrs. Verna Johnson, LeMars.

There are 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also two brothers, Joe Buryanek, McPherson, Kans., and Jim Buryanek, Burke, S.D. Also two half brothers, John and Thomas Buryanek of Westfield and two half sisters, Mrs. Helen Faust of Westfield and Mrs. Clara Feauto of Akron.
