JOHN SWISHER, 56,
SUCCUMBS AT HOME
EAST OF HINTON

John Henry Swisher, 56, who died Saturday at his home two miles east of Hinton after suffering a heart attack, had been a resident of Plymouth county for 35 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at his home and at 2:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Merrill with the Rev. E. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in the Merrill cemetery, under the direction of the Luken’s funeral home.

Mr. Swisher was a veteran of the First World War, and members of the American Legion at Merrill and Hinton will be pallbearers.

Mr. Swish, a retired farmer, was born April 19, 1894, a Danville, Ill. He married Carrie Karley at Merrill, December 23, 1919.

Survivors are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. Edmond Anderson and Mrs. Marvin Marieau, both of Merrill; Mrs. Vernon Singer of LeMars, Ia., and Misses Versella and Lucille at home; two sons, John Jr., of Merrill and William at home; a sister, Mrs. Danny Suprey of Sacramento, Cal.; three brothers, James of Hinton and Harley and George, both of Hammond, Ind., and seven grandchildren.

JOHN SWISHER RITES

Pallbearers for the funeral of John H. Swisher, held last Wednesday, April 18, were Leslie Trometer, Carl Neilson, Ray Richardson, Ray Messelheiser, Don Thompson, and Earl Riediger. All were members of the American Legion and the Legion had charge of all the services at the cemetery. About 40 Legionnaires took part in the services.

Mr. Swisher passed away in his car while returning to his home in Hinton, from the place where he was employed as a carpenter in the country.

Those coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Dan Supry, a sister from Sacramento, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Harley Swisher, a brother from Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Mary McNees of Danville, Ill., who was an aunt and a niece, Mrs. Wm. Lohmeyer of Hammond, Ind.
