FRED THIEL SUFFERS
HEART ATTACK, RITES
HELD SATURDAYFuneral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Mauer funeral chapel for Fred Thiel, 60, who died Wednesday night, Nov. 26, as a result of a heart attack, suffered while he was working as a city street department employee in snow removal operations.
Mr. Thiel was taken by ambulance to the Sacred Heart hospital but died 10 minutes after arrival.
Rev. L. L. Belk, pastor of the St. John's American Lutheran Church will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in the Grant township cemetery.
Frederick William Thiel was born Feb. 17, 1892, on a farm near Westfield. Except for a few years on a farm near Wagner, S.D., he was a lifelong resident of Plymouth county.
He was married Oct. 7, 1929, to Sophia Helena Schilling at Yankton, S.D. They moved to LeMars in 1939. Mrs. Thiel died in 1949.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Freda Phillips of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Amelia Dewey of Westfield; two half-sisters, Miss Katherine Toben and Mrs. Clara Warnsing, both of Westfield, and 3 half-brothers, Carl Toben, John Toben of Westfield, and Martin of Akron.
