LE MARS, Iowa --- June Eleanor Bricker, 80, of LeMars, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Plymouth Manor Care Center.

Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Shinkle officiating. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until service time Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bricker was born June 19, 1920, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Eldridge) Kelley. She graduated from East High in Waterloo and later received a teaching degree from Iowa State Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught at the Greenfield, Reinbeck and Waterloo schools. She married Leon “Lee” Bricker on June 8, 1948, in Waterloo.

They lived in various locations before moving to Ackley, Iowa, in the 1950’s. They owned and operated a jewelry store in Ackley before moving to Minneapolis. In 1970 they moved to LeMars. She was the librarian at Kluckhohn Elementary from 1970 to 1980.

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in LeMars and had been active in Circle. She had been a resident of Plymouth Manor Care Center for the past few months.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Scott of LeMars; a daughter and her husband, Jane and Christopher Lindell of Marion, Iowa; six grandchildren, Benjamin “B.J.” and Sarah Lindell, Adrienne, Taylor, Simone and Sydney Bricker.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald.
