HELENE BREITBARTH
Helene W. Breitbarth, 94, longtime Akron resident, died Monday (July 15, 1991) at the Akron Care Center.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron with Rev. Stephanie Sanborn officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 7-8 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
She was born May 4, 1897, in Wayne County, Neb., near Pender, the daughter of August and Alvina (Wollmer) Joost. She married Fred Breitbarth June 8, 1915, in Pender. The couple farmed near Pender until 1936 when they moved to a farm east of Akron. In 1943, they moved into Akron. Mr. Breitbarth died in 1975. She had been a resident of the care center since March 1985.
Mrs. Breitbarth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Women of the ELCA.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Delora) Schnier of Norfolk, Neb., and Mrs. Bill (Joan) Fleming of Eagan, Minn.; two sons and their wives, Glenn and Elenore of Norwalk, Calif., and Vernon and Ruth of Phoenix; a daughter-in-law, Bernice Breitbarth of LeMars; a sister, Alvina Luce of California; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randall.
