DELBERT L. BOGENRIEF

KINGSLEY, Iowa – Delbert L. Bogenrief, 82, of Kingsley died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Kingsley, with the Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Nash Post 140 of Kingsley. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mr. Bogenrief was born Dec. 30, 1917, in rural Brookings, S.D., the son of Murl and Myrtle (Lorenzen) Bogenrief.

He moved with his family to the Kingsley area as a child. He graduated from Kingsley High School in 1935. He lived and worked in Kingsley.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945.

He married Shryl Bolton on July 3, 1945, in Kingsley. The couple farmed in the Kingsley area until 1978, when they moved into Kingsley. His wife died March 25, 1999, in Kingsley.

He was a member of United Methodist Church and American Legion Nash Post 140. He served on the board of directors at Farmer’s Co-Op in Kingsley for six years.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Lynette and Pat Robeson of Moville, Iowa; two sons and their wives, Gary and Cindy of Hampton, Iowa, and Tom and Joyce of York, Neb.; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Aaron, Mindy, Kami and Jill Bogenrief, Tracy Meis and Brandee Robeson; a brother and his wife, Burdette and Mabel of Beatrice, Neb.; and a sister, Bernice Vannorsdel of Kingsley.
