PEARL C. BOE
AKRON, Iowa – Pearl C. Boe, 83, of Norfolk, Neb., formerly of Akron, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at a Norfolk hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Spring Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Viborg, S.D. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today at Home for Funerals in Norfolk.
Mrs. Boe was born Nov. 22, 1916, the daughter of Hans and Rosie (Nielsen) Iversen.
She attended rural school and following graduation worked in the family general store in Center Point, S.D.
She married Holger “Pete” Boe on Dec. 15, 1934, in Vermillion, S.D. The couple lived in several towns before settling in Akron. They moved to Norfolk in 1965.
She was employed as a cook at Mary’s Café from 1968 until retiring in 1986.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Dennis and Joan of Mesa, Ariz., Larry and Deanna of Hanau, Germany, and Gary and Nancy of Omaha; two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Stuart Harris of Akron and Kristine and Dale Simmons of Norfolk; a brother and his wife, Niels and Helen Iversen of Mesa; a sister and her husband, Opal and Vernon Hansen of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 25 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
