HELEN BEERNINK

LE MARS, Iowa – Helen Beernink of LeMars died unexpectedly Monday, April 3, 2000, at her residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in LeMars, with the Rev. Richard Ries and the Rev. George McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday, with a parish rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mrs. Beernink was born in Struble, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Annie (Coffey) Moran. She attended grade school in Struble and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Omaha.

She married Andrew Beernink on March 8, 1943, in South Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux Center, Iowa, and LeMars. They then moved to a farm in Marion Township near LeMars. Her husband died Sept. 27, 1990.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Survivors include seven nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gene Beernink, Marvin and Dennis Meis, Myles Kass, Dan Jensen, and Jerry Arens.
