HENRY BEECK
AKRON, Iowa – Henry Beeck, 81, of Akron died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron with the Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, with military rites by Hoschler American Legion Post 186 of Akron. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Beeck was born March 18, 1915, in Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of Fred and Wilhelmine (John) Beeck. He attended Tucker School and lived in Akron his entire life. Mr. Beeck served in the United States Army during World War II from June 11, 1942 to Jan. 10, 1946. He farmed near Akron for many years and was also a carpenter for many years.
Mr. Beeck was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Albert and Betty and Emil and Charlotte, all of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Carl, Bill, Gus, Chris, and Alvin; and a sister Sophie Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Robert Beeck, Daniel Searls, Robert Popken, Denny Port, Barry Klave and John Bouwman.
