CHARLES T. ROSENOW
MERRILL, Iowa --- Charles Thomas Rosenow, 82, of Merrill, died Tuesday, March 7, 1995, at Floyd Valley Hospital, in LeMars.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill with the Rev. Keith Seivers, the Rev. Frank Philipp and the Rev. Bob D. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Adaville, rural Merrill. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mr. Rosenow was born Aug. 12, 1912, in Richmond, Va., the son of Charles and Nettie (Hansen) Rosenow. He moved with his parents to a farm in the Leeds area of Sioux City at the age of 1. He attended Liberty Consolidated School, rural Merrill. He married Florence Eppling June 20, 1935, at Adaville. The couple farmed in Liberty Township for many years. He also sold seed corn to area farmers. He retired in 1975. Mrs. Rosenow died June 9, 1977. On Sept. 30, 1978, he married Catherine Herbst at Aberdeen, S.D.
Mr. Rosenow was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for many years, where he had served as an usher. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Merrill and the Plymouth County Farm Bureau.
Survivors are his wife; a son and his wife, Larry and Twila Rosenow of Grinnell; two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Stan Wilkins of Sheldon and Kathy and Rev. Bob Davis of Des Moines; two brothers, Earnest Rosenow of Sioux City and Albert and his wife, Wilma Rosenow of Pomona, Calif.; a sister, Mata Stinton of LeMars; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Leon and his wife, Candi Herbst of Merrill, Lois and her husband, Jim Antonen of Moorhead, Minn., and Pat [the copy runs out here]
