Mrs. Annie E. Olson
Mrs. Annie E. Olson, departed this life, Monday night, August 17, 1953, after a short illness, at the Rosebud Community Hospital in Winner, S.D.
Annie Elizabeth Gabel was born May 1, 1978, in Sac county, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gabel, a child of a family of twelve children. At the age of nine she moved with her parents to Plymouth county, Iowa to a farm near Akron, where she resided until 1901 when she was united in marriage with Hugo Bellander, of Alcester, S.D. To this union two children were born. Being separated from her husband, she resided with her son and later married Ellis Olson, of Colome, S.D., where they resided till 1944, when Mr. Olson passed away. Mrs. Olson then moved to her home in Colome, Until recent years she made her home intermittently with her son and daughter.
Relatives who mourned her passing are: her son, Lester Bellander, of Dallas, S.D.; her daughter, Mrs. Eugene Rahn, Hamill, S.D.; five grandsons and one granddaughter, Delvin L. Rahn, Moorehead, Minn.; Mrs. Neil Frank, Colome, S.D.; Blalin Bellander, LaWayne Bellander, Darrel Bellander, and Darvin Bellander, all of Dallas, S.D.; two brothers, Geo. Gabel, of Merrill, Iowa, and Leo Gabel, of Aberdeen, S.D.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Bohlken, of Gardena, Calif.; twin great-grandsons and three great-grand-daughters, besides many nieces and nephews.
Relatives who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gabel, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Rowe, Miss Lillian Gabel, Glen Gabel, Mrs. Harvey Herman, all of LeMars; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Atkinson, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyde Gabel and Miss Janice Gabel, all of Merrill; Mrs. Anna Gabel, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gabel, Gene Arthur Gabel, Mr. and Mrs. James Gabel, Jimmy, Leon and Eldon Gabel, Mrs. Elmer Phillips, Mrs. Paul Stoel, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Tindall, all of Akron; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gabel and Jack Gabel, of Aberdeen, S.D. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Methodist church at Colome and burial in the Winner Cemetery.
