WILLIAMS – LaVoy H. Williams of Whittier died Feb 12 at Santa Marta Hospital in Los Angeles at the age of 59. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, he was a teacher in the La Mirada-Norwalk School District. He was a resident of Whittier since 1962. He was also a member of the East Whittier United Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Williams of Whittier; daughters, Ann Marie Williams of Whittier and Susan Katherine Williams of Whittier; mother, Verna Williams of Long Beach; sister Glenna Doering of Grand Island, Neb.; and brother Jerry Williams of Grass Valley.
Services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the East Whittier United Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Roger E. Purdy. Visitation will be today 5 to 9 p.m. at Lanier-Richardson Mortuary.
Donations may be made to East Whittier United Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
