Leon Bertie Gabel, 16 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gabel, of Bath, passed away suddenly at a local hospital following a few days illness.

Leon Gabel was born April 9, 1918, at Bison. Eleven years ago he came to make his home with his parents 2 3-4 miles east of Bath, where they have since resided. Leon was a sophomore in the Bath high school where he gained prominence in the Bath orchestra and basketball team.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gabel, two brothers, and three sisters- Vinton, Floyd, Margaret, Eunice and Lois all at home and his grandmother, Mrs. W.W. Crow, of Akron, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church at Bath Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment will be made at Bath cemetery.
