Mrs. Mary Taylor
Mrs. Mary Taylor, 88, Merrill, died Saturday (Nov. 17, 1973) at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center after a short illness. Mrs. Taylor had resided at the center the last seven years.
She was a lifelong resident of the Merrill area.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist church, Merrill, with the Rev. Larry Vallery officiating.
Burial will be in the Merrill Hillside cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Mary Ellen Howes was born Sept. 18, 1885, in Plymouth County, the daughter of the late Algernon and Emma (Calhoun) Howes.
She and James Irwin Taylor were married March 15, 1905, at rural Merrill.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Merrill United Methodist church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1946 and by five brothers.
Survivors are a son, Donald Taylor of Merrill; a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Lucretia) Trometer of Fremont, Neb., formerly of Merrill, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Taylor funeral rites held Nov. 20
The casket bearers for Mrs. Mary Ellen Taylor, 88, funeral service held Nov. 20 were Everett Orr, Kenneth Dry, Milton Atkinson, William Trometer, Merton Jessen and Allen Rudy.
The organist was Mrs. Frank Marienau and the soloist was William Timmins, LeMars.
The Legion auxiliary served refreshments after the services.
