Dolena Richards
Mrs. Dolena (Charles) Richards, 78 longtime Brunsville business woman died September 6 at the Akron Community hospital after a sickness of two days. She entered the hospital two days before her death.
Dolena McInnis was born January 17, 1881 in Johnson Township, Plymouth county and was a lifelong resident in this county. Her parents were the late Angus and Hannah Ross McInnis. She was the last of a family of 9 children.
She was united in marriage with Charles M. Richards in October 1898.
Mrs. Richards was a retired postmistress of Brunsville having served from 1921 to 1951. She lived the past 49 years in Brunsville.
Funeral services will be held at the Plymouth Presbyterian church near Brunsville at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1959 with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Kruse will officiate and burial will be in charge of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Ralph William Richards, Brunsville; two daughters, Maude, Mrs. Ed Dirks of Akron and Fern, Mrs. Chris Lendt of LeMars Five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Kenneth and a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Featherston. She was a member of the Plymouth Presbyterian church.
