Wes Hamilton of Merrill dead at 66
Wesley Guy Hamilton, 66, retired Merrill businessman and lifelong resident of Merrill and vicinity, died Monday morning at his Merrill home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church, Merrill with Rev. Harold L. Norheim officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Merrill, under direction of Mauer funeral home, LeMars. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
Mr. Hamilton was born Nov. 5, 1903, at rural Merrill, a son of the late William and Daisy Alderson Hamilton. He married Mabel Carstensen Oct. 9, 1929, at St. John Lutheran church, Merrill.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran church, Merrill.
Survivors are his wife Mabel; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald Eugene (Fern) Heck of Sioux City and Mrs. Marlin (Joyce) Hutton of Craig; a son, William of Merrill, a Vietnam veteran who recently received an honorable discharge from the air force; two brothers, James and Wayne of Merrill; four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Ruth) Holtzen of Sioux City, Mrs. Franklin (Jennie) Ferguson of State College, Pa., Mrs. Harold (Arlene) Rath, Hinton, and Mrs. Lyman (Ayleen) Clark, Merrill, and eight grandchildren.
