Frances Bell
Frances A. Bell, 78, of Prescott, died April 25, 1993, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 26, 1915, to Frank and Mary (Taylor) Gabel on their farm in northwestern Iowa.
Mrs. Bell moved to Prescott in 1961 from Cherokee, Iowa. She taught school for four years prior to her marriage in Cherokee. She attended Westmar College/Western Union and earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Northern Iowa University.
She was a charter member of Prescott Community Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the women's fellowship. She was also a member P.E.O. and the Gideon Bible Auxiliary. She was active in her church and community, conducting children's and youth choirs for many years in Cherokee and Prescott. She was always active in volunteer work.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 53 years, Charles, a son and his wife, Bruce and Rita Bell of Durango, Colo.; a daughter, Jeanne Bell of Prescott; a brother Ralph Gabel of LeMars, Iowa; Three sisters, Opal Coates of Spokane, Wash., Cleo Tindall of Akron, Iowa, and Eva Brown of LeMars; six grandchildren, Michelle, Curtis, Michael, Carrie, Brian and Cam; one great-grandchild, John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ethel Rowe, and a grandson, Steven.
A celebration of Frances' life will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Prescott Community Church, 3151 Willow Creek Road, with the Rev. Bob Myers officiating. Private cremation will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
