Veryl Hamil
Funeral for well-known Kingsley area farmer, Veryl Hamil, 67, were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kingsley St. Michael's Catholic Church. Rev. Francis Staber officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home.
Visitation was from noon Sunday with rosaries at 4 and 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamil died unexpectedly Thursday (April 7, 1988) at Sioux City Marian Health Center after becoming ill at home.
He was born Feb. 18, 1921, in Union Township, Plymouth County. He attended Elkhorn Township rural schools and graduated from Kingsley High School. He attended Buena Vista College at Storm Lake and LeMars Western Union College.
Mr. Hamil taught rural schools in Garfield Township and May School at Westfield.
His marriage to Fern Meister took place June 30, 1942.
He is survived by his wife Fern, of Kingsley; three sons, Dan of Sioux Center, Lynn of Remsen and Wade of Kingsley; and three grandchildren.
