Everett W. Zinn, 79, of LeMars, died suddenly at his home Wednesday (March 21, 1990.)

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars with Rev. Edward Visser officiating. Internment will be held prior to the memorial service. Graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of LeMars. Public viewing will be held at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Friday.)

Mr. Zinn was born July 9, 1910, at Storm Lake to Bertha and Herman Zinn. He grew up at rural Buena Vista and Sac Counties and graduated from Storm Lake High School. He married Gertrude Oordt of Orange City on Dec. 29, 1940. After serving in the Air Force during World War II, Mr. Zinn entered the service station business. He was the proprietor of Zinn’s Standard Service in LeMars for 27 years.

Mr. Zinn was a member of the American Legion for 46 years. He was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars. He also served as one of the community’s longest-term delivery persons of Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Zinn, of LeMars; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Zinn of Iowa City; two grandsons, Nathan and Tony Zinn of Iowa City; and a sister Marjorie Clouse of Hemet, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Luvilla Fiscus, of Cedar Falls.
