FUNERAL FRIDAY FOR RETIRED BUSINESSMAN

Heinz H. Wilms, 77, longtime LeMars resident and retired businessman, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, Nov. 27, 1990, at Floyd Valley Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2:30 Friday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. David Kramer and Rev. Mark Wilms officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 7-8 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Wilms was born March 22, 1913, in Varel in Oldenburg, W. Germany to Johann and Marie Rickels Wilms. He came to the United States in 1934 (to Coleridge, Neb.) and to LeMars in 1935.

His marriage to Wilma H. Krull took place Oct. 11, 1936, in LeMars. He operated Wilms Shoe Repair in LeMars and farmed in the area for several years. He later worked as a field representative for A.M.P.I., at Sioux Center, retiring in 1976.

He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife, Wilma Hertha Wilms, LeMars; three sons, Heinz Jr. and his wife, Sue Ann, Frederick, Maryland; Paul and his wife, Marguerite, Cary, North Carolina, and Rev. Mark and his wife, Lynn, Milwaukee; two daughters, Else and her husband, Peter Bonthuis, Sioux City, and Lynda and her husband, Dan Topp of Tucson, Ariz., a brother, Fritz Wilms, of Varel in Oldenburg, W. Germany.

He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Lisa, Matt and Ann Wilms of Maryland; Christopher and Rebecca Wilms of North Carolina; Heidi Bonthuis of Sioux City; David and Angie Bonthuis of Ames; Jason Topp of Minneapolis; Jeremy and Katie Topp of Tuscson; a great grandchild, Jessica Bonthuis of Ames; a nephew, Arthur Krull Jr. of LeMars and many other nieces and nephews in West Germany and in the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Hanna Kramer and Else Marshall, both of West Germany.
