Former Seney Resident Passes
Mrs. James Lancaster Dies in Dakota
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Faulkton, S. D., on Tuesday July 6, for Mrs. James Lancaster. Services were conducted by Rev. R. W. Hefler.
In December, 1935, Mrs. Lancaster suffered a stroke of paralysis. A later stroke in 1940 left her a helpless invalid until the time of her death, on July 4, 1943.
Jennie Constance* Daniels, daughter of Jacob and Marcia Daniels, was born August 8, 1866 at Bristol, Kenosha county, Wisconsin. She came with her parents to Maurice, Iowa, in 1881. On April 12, 1899 she was united in marriage to James Lancaster of Seney, and they farmed in Seney community for ten years. In September, 1909, with her husband and two children, she moved to Faulkton, S. D., where she resided until the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, James Lancaster and her son Donald of Faulkton, S. D., a daughter, Mrs. Cornelius Wall of Hillman, Minn., nine grandchildren, a brother, Fred Daniels of Granton, Wisconsin, a sister, Harriet Daniels of Sioux City, and a half sister, Mrs. Cora Dunning, of Marinette, Wisconsin.
Relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. Margaret Rees and A. McArthur of Seney, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rees and son Larry, Mrs. Marie Wonser and Miss Harriet Daniels of Sioux City.
(*Note--On James & Jennie's marriage registration Jennie's middle name is recorded as "Maria"; her mother's maiden name is recorded as "Constance".)
