CARL A. UTECHT

Carl A. (Friday) Utecht, 76, of LeMars, died Tuesday, June 16, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with Dr. Howard Marty officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Utecht was born Aug. 7, 1915, at Kingsley, the son of Charles and Sophia (Lau) Utecht. A lifelong Plymouth county resident, he moved to LeMars in 1922 and graduated from LeMars High School in 1935. He was employed by Wells’ in LeMars for 38 years, retiring in 1973.

Survivors include a brother, Walter Utecht and his wife, Agnes, of LeMars; three sisters, Dorothy Holloway of Odebolt, Helen M. Bahney of Onyx, Calif., and LaVon Blaird and her husband, Louis, of Red Bluff, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orise, and a sister, Lorraine.
