JOHN W. URBAN

John William Urban, 65, of LeMars, died Sunday, April 23, 1995, at his home in LeMars.

He was born March 16, 1930, at Chatsworth, the son of Carl and Alma (Martfeld) Urban. He attended school in Sioux City and completed his education at LeMars Central High School. On May 28, 1960, he married Betty Ann Kleene at Elk Point, S.D. She died Nov. 7, 1988.

Mr. Urban worked as a truck driver for Phil Groetken Trucking for several years. He was employed with Good Morning Mills for 34 years as a truck driver.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Katherine and her husband, Ron Schmidt, of LeMars, and Kristy Urban of LeMars; three sons, David of LeMars, Kenneth and his wife Linda of Struble, and Daniel of LeMars; four grandchildren; a special friend, Alma Willer of LeMars; a sister and her husband, Helen and Ross Thompson of Tucson, Ariz., and a half-brother and his wife, Ronald and Carole Mahlke of LeMars.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
