LYLE V. STINTON
Lyle V. Stinton, 67, of LeMars, a Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died Tuesday (Nov. 10, 1987) at Veterans Administration Hospital at Sioux Falls after a long illness.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. David Kramer will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mr. Stinton was born May 7, 1920, in Merrill to Ray and Hazel Kaynor Stinton. He married Betty Steinfadt Aug. 12. 1946, in LeMars. He retired in 1982 as a dozer operator with road building construction.
Mr. Stinton was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Betty, of LeMars; four sons, Mike, Gene and David, all of LeMars, and Larry of Merrill; five daughters, Linda Martin of Sioux City, Gloria Stinton of Akron, Donna Lariviere of Elk Point, Brenda Stinton of LeMars and Pam Baldwin of Akron; a sister, Marg Sorgdrager of Sioux City; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dick in 1969, and two grandchildren.
