GEORGE E. SIEBENS
George E. Siebens, 73, 335 Second Ave., NW, died Thursday (Jan. 18, 1973) at Floyd Valley Hospital after a two week illness. He had been hospitalized two weeks.
Mr. Siebens was a retired farmer and LeMars Hatchery employee. He farmed until retiring to LeMars is in 1954. He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. at the St. John's American Lutheran Church with Rev. Arnold Imbrock officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of the Mauer funeral home, LeMars.
George Esdert Siebens was born Jan. 21, 1899, at rural Akron, the son of the late Esdert and Gaskey (Huls) Siebens.
He and Katherine Wilken were married Dec. 18, 1924, at the Preston Township Lutheran Church.
Mr. Siebens was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Survivors are his wife, Katherine of LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Darlene) Liles of LeMars; a son, Marvin, of Akron; three brothers, Sieben and John Siebens, both of Akron and Andrew Siebens of LeMars; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Taylor and Mrs. Rena Gabel, both of Akron, and Martha Siebens of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and 14 grandchildren.
