Nelson Brown, 76, LeMars, Iowa --- Died Oct. 1, 1972, Floyd Valley Hospital. Funeral 1:30 p.m., Oct. 3, Adaville United Methodist Church, rural Merrill, the Rev. J. L. Vallery officiating. Burial Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Mauer Funeral Home of LeMars. Masonic services 8 p.m., Oct. 2, funeral home.
Born March 6, 1896, Los Angeles County, Calif. Resident Adaville area since 1903. Retired farmer and livestock feeder.
Married Esther Philips Feb. 27, 1923, Adaville. Member of Adaville United Methodist Church, trustee of church for 49 years. Charter member of Plymouth County Farm Bureau, member Plymouth County School Board for five years. Navy veteran of World War I, member American Legion at Merrill, Giblem Masonic Lodge 322 at LeMars, Order of Eastern Star, active in community affairs.
Survivors: widow; sons, Donald and Floyd, both of rural Merrill, Melvin of Vinton; daughter, Mrs. John Weber of Early; sister, Mrs. Alice Bryant of rural Akron; brothers, Bertsel and Elmer, both of rural Merrill; 13 grandchildren.
