HERMAN SCHULTZ
DIED MONDAYHerman Schultz, 77, of LeMars, was taken to Sacred Heart hospital Monday afternoon in a serious condition and died several hours later.
The deceased was reared on a small Plymouth county farm and during his later years amassed property valued at more than a million dollars. In April 1948 he created a furor by announcing that he was giving away a million dollars worth of his property to relatives and friends. His property included 42 farms in four states.
Mr. Schultz was the eldest of seven children.
He is survived by two brothers, Oscar of LeMars and William of Lakefield, Minn.; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Wetrosky of Merrill.
