Dorothea Becker
Dorothea Catherine Becker, 78, a native and lifelong Plymouth county resident, died Sunday (Aug. 27, 1978) at Floyd Valley hospital after an illness of several months.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught many years in the rural school and later in Remsen and Hinton schools.
Miss Becker was born April 25, 1900, in Lincoln township to Joseph and Christina Schneider Becker. She was a member of the Melbourne United Methodist church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Merrill Melbourne United Methodist church. Rev. Russell Tarver will officiate and burial will be in Floyd Valley cemetery rural Hinton under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Raymond and a sister, Alice.
Survivors are a sister, Alma Becker, rural Merrill, and a nephew, Gene Becker, Rural Hinton; two nieces, Mrs. Harold (Janice) Albert, rural LeMars, and Mrs. James (Rae) Nanninga, Fort Dodge, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Raymond Becker, rural Merrill.
