IS DEAD
FUNERAL SERVICE SET, SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Louis Okerstrom, 72, longtime operator of the Okerstrom apartments here, died Wednesday at Methodist hospital, Sioux City, after several years of illness. He had been hospitalized a week.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John American Lutheran Church, Rev. L. L. Belk will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Mauer’s funeral home.

Louis Erick Okerstrom was born Aug. 20, 1887, in Sweden, the son of Andres and Karin Anderson Okerstrom. He came to this country in 1906 and has resided in LeMars since. Mr. Okerstrom was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church.

In addition to operating his apartment houses on 1st Ave. NW, he had worked as a blacksmith at the Gus Pech Foundry.

His marriage to Bertha Klohs took place Dec. 18, 1910, at LeMars. She preceded in him in death, as did two sisters and a brother.

Survivors are two daughters, Miss Mildred Okerstrom of LeMars and Mrs. Laurence (Ruth) Bass of Marcus; a brother, Gus Okerstrom of LeMars; one sister, Mrs. Anna Erickson of Walsta, Sweden, and several nieces and nephews.
