LE MARS, Iowa -- Angeline S. "Angie" Prokop, 81, of Le Mars died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars, with the Rev. Tim Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday, with the family present after 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Angeline S. Doupnik was born Dec. 21, 1921, in Thurston, Neb., to John and Mary (Hasek) Doupnik. She attended country school near Thurston.
She was united in marriage to Anton Prokop on Jan. 18, 1941, in West Point, Neb. In 1952, the couple moved to a farm north of Le Mars. They farmed until 1980, when they moved into Le Mars. She had worked in the school kitchen for many years, retiring in the late 1980s.
She loved to entertain guests in her home. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Angie and Anton enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She was a longtime member of Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Larry and Svitlana Prokop of Rochester, Minn., and Ronald and Colleen Prokop of Marion, Iowa; three grandchildren, Hillary and Corey Prokop of Marion, and Anton Prokop of Rochester; a brother, Jerry Doupnik of Fremont, Neb.; a sister and her husband, Florence and Ted Rihanek of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Doupnik; two brothers, John and Milt Doupnik; and her husband, Anton "Tony" Prokop on July 10, 2000.
Pallbearers will be Dennis, Larry and Rick Doupnik, Ken Novotny, Ken Prokop and Gregg Hawkins.
