FANNIE C. PLUEGER
LE MARS, Iowa --- Fannie Caroline Plueger, 98, of LeMars, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, at The Abbey in LeMars.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, ELCA, in LeMars with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Plueger was born Sept. 10, 1898, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Tena (Eilers) Weber. She moved to Plymouth County with her family in 1907. She was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Johnson Township, rural Plymouth County. She received her education in country schools.
On Oct. 12, 1919, she married Will Plueger at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Johnson Township. The couple farmed in Preston Township. He died Oct. 29, 1963.
Mrs. Plueger was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, ELCA.
Survivors include three daughters, Lillian Berkenpas of LeMars, Fern Schultz and her husband, Lowell, of LeMars, and Joyce Staum of Elk Point, S.D.; a sister, Minnie Plueger of LeMars; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, six brothers and two sons-in-law, Bill Berkenpas and Carrol Staum.
Pallbearers will be Tim Staum, Todd Staum, Gary Berkenpas, Lanny Harms, Keith Assein, and Allan Gollhofer.
