Paul C. Nitzschke, 88, of Remsen died Monday, Jan. 4, 1982, in Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, after a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church here. Rev. Julian Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars.

Mr. Nitzschke was born June 10, 1893, in rural Remsen. He was a lifelong area resident.

He married Mary Lanners on Oct. 13, 1915. She died in 1924. He married Vira Brown on June 27, 1929. She died April 11, 1969.

He worked for Standard Oil Co. for 30 years before his retirement.

Surviving are two sons, Lester of Remsen and Paul of LeMars; three daughters, Mrs. Erwin (Fern) Klemme and Mrs. Andrew (Pearl) Brown, both of Akron and Mrs. Lowry (Leila) Smith of Sioux City; two brothers, William of Remsen and Herman of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Carl (Martha) Grauer of Marcus; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The Moeller funeral home of Remsen was in charge of arrangements.
