JOHN WYLAND DIES AT DELL RAPIDS, S. DAK.
BURIAL RITES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR FORMER REMSEN MAN;
Victim Heart Attack

Remsen relatives last Wednesday attended the funeral of John Wyland, former resident here, who passed away at his home on a farm near Dell Rapids, S.D., October 9, at the age of 57 years. His death came suddenly from a heart attack. Surviving are his widow and one son.

Mr. Wyland had taken his noon day meal with the little family and appeared in his usual good state of health. After the dinner he lay on the couch to listen to market reports over the air, when he was pelted with a stroke and passed away within 30 minutes after leaving the table.

John Wyland worked as a farm hand around Remsen fro several years after coming to this country from Germany and 24 years ago was united in marriage to Josephine Willer, member of a well-known family of early settlers here. After farming northeast of town for six years, they moved to a farm near Dell Rapids and have been living there since.

Surviving are his sorrowing widow and one son, Lowell, 13 years old.

Mr. Wyland was a devoted husband and father, and a man who made friends readily because of his cheerful disposition. He was honest and diligent in business and was well deserving of the high esteem in which he was held generally. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of many Remsen friends.

Attending the funeral last Wednesday from Remsen were: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thill, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Willer, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Willer, Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Willer, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Thill, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thill, Edmond Thill, and Martha (unreadable last name.)
