LaVonne L. “Bonnie” Mulder

Mrs. LaVonne “Bonnie” Mulder, age 63, of Alton, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Feb. 14, at 1:00 p.m. at the Van Etten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. David Daumer officiated. Burial followed at Resthaven Memory Gardens near LeMars.

LaVonne Lucille, who was known as “Bonnie,” was born July 16, 1933, at Primghar, the daughter of Walter and Sylvia Mae (Traver) Mesner. She was raised in O’Brien County.

On Aug. 19, 1950, she married Darwin Dean Mulder at Paullina. They made their home in Alton.

Mrs. Mulder was employed at K-Products in Orange City for 21 years, retiring in August of 1995. She was currently working part-time at Pluim Publishing in Orange City.

Survivors include her husband; 11 children, Candice Zitterich of Mason City, Mike and his wife Deanna of Alton, Al and his wife Loralei of Spirit Lake, Maxine and her husband Henry Van Engen of Escondido, Calif., Robert of Alton, Richard and his wife Tammy of Sheldon, Daniel and his wife Karen of Garrison, S.D., Douglas of Toledo, Ohio, Russell of Glendale, Ariz., John of Anamosa, and Paul and his special friend Rhonda of Toledo, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; her mother, Sylvia Mae Cresson of Alton; a sister, Patricia Baker of Sutherland; and two brothers, Chester Mesner of LeMars and Dale Mesner of Daly City, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her father.
