LYDIA MULDER

Lydia Marie Ramhorst Mulder, 88, longtime Alton resident, died Sunday (Dec. 2, 1990) at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City with Rev. David Daumer officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 7-8 p.m. at the VanEtten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

The former Lydia Marie Ramhorst was born Nov. 29, 1902, in Sioux County, the daughter of Frederick and Lizzie Eilts Ramhorst. She married Arthur F. Mulder April 10, 1926, at Paullina. The couple made their home in Alton. Mr. Mulder died Sept. 6, 1973, at Cherokee.

In 1988, Mrs. Mulder became a resident of Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church and a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars. In her earlier years, she had been active in ladies’ organizations of the churches.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Wanda) Schuver of Sanborn; Mrs. Harvey (Donna) Gesink of Alton and Mrs. Dennis (Linda) Zwagerman of Glendale, Ariz.; two sons, Darwin of Alton and Dale of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Leon (Freda) DeRaad of Ireton; a half sister, Mrs. Grace Mulder of Waianae, Hawaii; and a half brother, Raymond Eilts of Hawarden.
