WILHELMINE MOHNING
Wilhelmine Mohning, 94, LeMars, died Wednesday in a hospital in LeMars.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars with burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with the family present from 7-8 p.m. in the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Mohning was born on Nov. 12, 1895, in Johnson County, Neb., to Fredrich and Wilhelmine (Beckmann) Wiebke. On June 12, 1918, she was married to L.H. Mohning in Cook, Neb. The couple came to Marion Township in Plymouth County after their marriage. She was a longtime Sunday School teacher at St. John’s and a member of the Women of ELCA and St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars.
She is survived by sons, Arnold and his wife, Hilda, LeMars; Merlin and his wife, Margaret, Paonia, Colo.; Louis and his wife, Lillian, Remsen; Raymond, Kingsley; and Henry, Merrill; daughters, Alveran and her husband Fred Lowery, Mariposa, Calif.; Esther Sjobakken, Stanton, Calif.; Norma and her husband Floyd Miller, LeMars; and Helen and her husband, Ronald Utesch, LeMars; a sister Elenore Bish, Cook, Neb.; 35 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, three sisters, a daughter in infancy, and five grandchildren.
