Funeral for Rosella Ludwigs, 62, LeMars, were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, with Rev. Jack Hebard officiating.
Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Visitation was after 2 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Co-Plymouth County Medical Examiner Dr. Donald Faber said death was due to an overdose of prescribed medication, self-inflicted. Death occurred between 7 and 8 p.m. Monday, June 10, 1985.
The body was discovered at her apartment at 227 Plymouth St. NW about noon Saturday, June 15, when LeMars police were notified.
The former Rosella Nussbaum, she was born to John and Susan Weber Nussbaum on March 18, 1923, in LeMars. She married William H. Ludwigs Aug. 19, 1946, at Remsen. The couple lived at rural LeMars. Mr. Ludwigs died Jan. 1, 1985, and she moved into LeMars June 1. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Nancy Vaughn, of Overland Park, Kan.; and a son, Bruce Ludwigs, of LeMars; two grandchildren and a brother, Milton Nussbaum of Remsen. She was also preceded in death by a sister.
