LESTER V. LEHRMAN
LE MARS, Iowa --- Lester Vincent Lehrman, 84, of LeMars, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mr. Lehrman was born March 6, 1916, in Sioux County, Iowa, the son of Frank and Emma (Kuecker) Lehrman. He was raised on the family farm and attended country school.
He married Luvena Augusta Hesebeck on Feb. 8, 1939, near Ireton, Iowa. The couple farmed near Maurice, Iowa. In 1961, they purchased a farm near Cresco, Iowa, where they farmed until retiring in 1969. They then moved to Oyens, Iowa. His wife died Jan. 15, 1970. He continued to live in Oyens until entering Plymouth Manor Care Center in 1994.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing cards, fishing and dancing.
Survivors include a son, Loren of Primghar, Iowa; two daughters, Janet and her husband, Marlin Haack of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Dr. ElaJoy Lehrman of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister and her husband, Vesta and Ervin Criswell of LeMars; two brothers and their wives, Frank and Bernice of Struble, Iowa, and Bill and Carla of Spencer, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Jean Lehrman of Spencer, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell; and a granddaughter, Lila Lehrman.
