William “Willie” Kuecker, 84, of rural Inwood, died Monday, March 13, 1995, at the Canton-Inwood Hospital at Canton, S. D.

He was born April 9, 1910, near Maurice, the son of Henry and Minnie (Hartenoff) Kuecker. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church or rural Ireton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from February 1942 through 1944. He did custom corn shelling and plowing in the Klondike area. He later farmed near Maurice and also did hay hauling.

He married Myrtle Olson Erickson on Nov. 22, 1963, at Luverne, Minn. Together they farmed north of Inwood. She died Feb. 10, 1995.

Survivors include a stepdaughter and her husband, Angeline and Bob Kuecker of Maurice; a sister, Marjorie Vellinga of Worthington, Minn.; two brothers-in-law, Milo and his wife, Wanda Olson of Larchwood and Stanley Olson of Inwood; four sisters-in-law, Tillie Olson of Larchwood, Oneva Peterson of Canton, S.D., Helen Sorenson of Beresford, S.D., and Palma and her husband, Elmer Sundem of Hills, Minn.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
