MISS ANNIE KIEFFER WAS FORMER TEACHER IN THIS VICINITY

Miss Annie Kieffer, 79, a well known public school teacher in the Remsen vicinity, died Saturday afternoon, May 10, at Sacred Heart hospital after four weeks of illness.

Miss Kieffer was born Sept. 2, 1878, at Bellevue. She moved to Remsen with her parents at four years of age and had resided in Plymouth county since that time.

She taught, in addition to Remsen, at Hinton and Struble.

Miss Kieffer was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and the Third Order of St. Francis at LeMars.

Survivors are a sister, Mrs. C. W. Brotherton of Wall Lake, and two brothers, Eugene F. Kieffer, editor and publisher of the Remsen Bell Enterprise, and George N. Kieffer of Wall Lake.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s church, Remsen. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
