Jack Tindall Dies at 93; Rites Saturday
John David (Jack) Tindall, 93, of 44 2nd Ave. NW., died Wednesday (Nov 12, 1975) at his home after a 2-month illness.
Mr. Tindall has lived the last 30 years at that residence.
He was born March 2, 1882, in Plymouth county, a son of James and Agnes Curry Tindall. He lived in the Adaville community until moving to a farm 2 miles west of Le Mars in 1916. He farmed there until moving to Le Mars in 1946.
His marriage to Amy Brown took place June 28, 1905, at the farm near Adaville. She died in 1951. His marriage to E. Ferne King Jones took place July 12, 1953, in Le Mars.
He was a member of the First Baptist church in Le Mars and the Plymouth County Historical society.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Le Mars with Rev. Robert Hanthorn and Rev. Alvern Kinrade officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley cemetery at Adaville under direction of the Mauer funeral home, Le Mars.
Survivors are his wife Ferne, Le Mars; four sons, J. Clark Tindall of rural Le Mars; C. Richard of Hemet, Calif.; Stanley G. Tindall, Le Mars and Dr. Robert Tindall, St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. W.B. (Florence) Johnson, Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. Ralph A. (Mildred) Hunter, Le Mars, and Mrs. L.B. (Mary) White, Santa Clara, Calif.
Also surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Irene) Ewin, Mena, Ariz.(sic Ark.); a brother, Robert C. Tindall, Laguna Hills, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amy; a grandson, 1st Lt. Corbin C. Tindall in 1969; three sisters and a brother.
