BILL KLOHS

William Henry Klohs, 79, lifelong Plymouth County resident, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon (Nov. 11, 1977) at 120 1st SE.

He suffered an apparent heart attack. The LeMars resuscitator answered the call for assistance.

Mr. Klohs, a retired prominent farmer and longtime insurance agent, was born May 21, 1898, in Plymouth County to John A. and Rieka Baack Klohs.

Mr. Klohs and Lowell Lewis were married Sept. 6, 1919, at Aberdeen, S.D. They farmed in this area until 1949 when they retired and moved to LeMars. He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's American Lutheran Church with Rev. Arnold Imbrock and Rev. William Reck officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

A family prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife Lowell, LeMars; two sons, Murle of Tarzana, Calif., and Marland (Whitey) Klohs, LeMars; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John, of Maurice, and Charles of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Morrison, Aberdeen, S.D., and Mrs. Ann Keiper, Tucson, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, a brother and an infant son, William H.
