MARY L. KEHRBERG
LE MARS, Iowa --- Mary Louis Kehrberg, 90, of LeMars, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996, at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Calvary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. A private family burial service will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kehrberg was born March 7, 1906, on the family farm in Union Township and graduated from Union High School in 1924 and attended Morningside College for two years. She married Elmer W. Kehrberg on Dec. 18, 1928, at her parents home in Union township. The couple farmed in Stanton township until their retirement in the late 1960’s. He died in April 1979. She had also worked at Westmar College for several years. In 1973, the couple moved to LeMars. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
Mrs. Kehrberg was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Martha Circle and a lifetime member of the Women’s Farm Bureau, where she had been an officer for several years.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Norman and Beth of LeMars, William and Carleen of Sheldon, Iowa, and Daniel and Mary Ann of Fairmont, Minn.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four brothers, R. G. Eyers of Lawton, Iowa, Roger and his wife Grace of San Diego, Calif., the Rev. Lawrence Eyres of Oostburg, Wis., and Evart and his wife, Shirla, of Hillsboro, Ore.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Walter Eyres.
